Jayapura WeekenderDay 1: Friday Depart Port Moresby 11.40am on flight PX148 to Vanimo (via Madang and Wewak), arriving 2.50pm (or alternative compatible flight arrangements – flights are not included in this package). On arrival at Vanimo airport you will be met and transferred by road to Jayapura, stopping at Wutung border post for immigration and customs checks. Your guide will assist with formalities on the Indonesia side. (NB Visa to visit Jayapura must be obtained from the Indonesian Embassy in Port Moresby in advance). 7pm Check in at the Matoa Hotel, Jayapura (deluxe room with breakfast). Shopping at night markets. For dinner, a large variety of restaurants and roadside food stalls are available to choose from. Day 2: Saturday Shopping in central Jayapura or take a taxi to a suburban shopping centre or markets. Overnight Matoa Hotel (deluxe room with breakfast) Day 3: Sunday Half-day sightseeing tour around Jayapura with guide. Shopping. Overnight Matoa Hotel (deluxe room with breakfast) Day 4: Monday 7am check out from Matoa Hotel and transfer by road with guide to Vanimo, arriving by 12 noon. Check in at Vanimo airport for Air Niugini flight PX149 to Port Moresby departing 1.45pm and arriving 4.55pm (via Wewak and Madang).
