Kimbe

West New Britain is a province largely untouched by the outside world, apart from a few areas including around Kimbe Bay. Hoskins airport is 43 kilometres from the provincial capital, Kimbe, and further around the bay is Walindi Plantation Resort and Talasea, a pretty village that was occupied by the Japanese during World War II.

The climate is tropical, warm and humid with January to March being the monsoon season. Temperatures don't vary much throughout the year, the averages being in the high twenties/low thirty degrees celcius.
