Doini Island Plantation Resort

Doini Island is located on the south side of Milne Bay, around 1 hour from Gurney airport. Depending on connecting flight times, a night's accommodation may be required in Alotau, before being picked up the next morning and taken to the island. Once you're there, 1100 hectares of coconut trees and rainforest await you, surrounded by white sandy beaches and pristine turqouise waters.

The resort consists of a guest house that can accommodate up to 10 people as well as beach front cabins that can sleep up to 5 in each. The cabins are self contained with ensuites and kitchenette, but there is also a fully licensed restaurant that can seat 150 guests. The resort is in the process of constructing safari tents which will sleep up to 5 people once completed.

Tours can be organised to visit WWII relics, battle sites, memorials and local culture, and colonial sites at Samarai and Kwato Islands.

Please note that the prices for boat hire are additional to accommodation costs. This is the only way to get to Doini Island.
